Dr Vikram Rao completed his MD in Sports Medicine from Sri Ramachandra Institute of higher education and research. He has worked in IPL with Sunrisers Hyderabad and functioned as the Team Doctor and Bio bubble integrity manager during the perilous COVID season of 2020. He has also worked with the Tamil Nadu Men’s cricket team as the team doctor for Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy.
He’s been treating many cricketers from TNPL and other division level players. He has got vast experience working with the Indian Super League (ISL) and has served in multiple roles such as team doctor, first aid coordinator, medical team coordinator and so on for multiple years. He has also been the lead doctor in organizing medical coverage for multiple triathlon events in the city.
Having a passion for exercise as medicine, he aims to bring a fitter lifestyle to anyone dealing with musculoskeletal injuries or metabolic conditions, and those wanting to take up sports. Off the field he has worked in the clinical setup, including the isokinetic lab, exercise physiology lab and the biomechanics lab. With his experience in athlete assessment and rehabilitation he wishes to guide many athletes to a safe entry into a sporting career and also to return back to sports following an injury.
